Single Legged Deadlift | HOW TO
How To • 10m
In this HOW TO I will be showing you how to do a single legged deadlift, some tips for successfully single legged deadlifting, and some come mistakes and errors I can see happen in a single legged deadlift. Please complete the basics of Deadlifting before this video!
Props Needed: A dowel, broom stick, or mop (if you got it), and maybe a wall, couch, or counter top near by if you need extra balance.
Why I love single legged deadlifts? They are a fantastic exercise for developing full body stability, while working unilateral (single sided), posterior (back of your body) strength. Because they have a single sided feature to them, they have a great carry over/cross over for cyclists, runners, and hikers. They also teach you to work your legs in oposition of one another, which makes them tricky!
What to Keep in mind: Single legged deadlifts are a complicated exercise. Think of them as skill that you need to practice, much like your favourite hobby. They take practice, and most likely won't be perfect in the beginning. Revisit this video as many times as you need until they feel great.
